The manufacturer has also announced that all UAD Spark plug-ins now offer native support for Apple Silicon Processors. ADVERTISEMENT Pultec Passive EQ Collection arrives in UAD Spark Universal Audio has announced that the UAD Spark subscription plan is being expanded with the Pultec Passive EQ Collection. Spark subscribers are now able to use the emulations of three classic Pultec tube equalizers alongside the many other plug-ins already available in Spark. Considering that UA had already brought other classics like the UA 1176 Collection and Teletronix LA-2A Collection to the Spark platform, it was only a matter of time until the Pultec Collection arrived, too. The emulations of the Pultec EQP-1A, MEQ-5, and HLF-3C are among the developer’s most popular plug-ins and have been around for a long time on the UAD-2 and Apollo platforms. Their arrival in Spark means that you can now enjoy these classic plug-ins even if you don’t own any UAD hardware. Universal Audio says that the Pultec Passive EQ Collection uses “end-to-end analog circuit modeling” to emulate the famous hardware in great detail. Apple Silicon compatibility On a side note, the developer has announced that all UAD Spark (UADx) plug-ins finally run natively on Apple Silicon processors! With the latest update, the plug-ins no longer require Rosetta 2 to operate on Apple M1 and M2 machines. That’s obviously great news! Moreover, Windows support is scheduled to arrive in the fall. Price and compatibility The Pultec Passive EQ Collection is now available to all Spark Subscribers. The Spark subscription, which includes more than 20 plug-ins in total, starts at USD 12.99/month for an annual subscription. A 14-day free trial is available. Owners of a UA Volt audio interface receive an exclusive 30-day trial. The plug-ins run on macOS 10.15 or higher (now including native support for Apple Silicon). They’re available in VST3, AU, AAX, and LUNA formats. You’ll need an iLok account for activation. |
