M-Audio introduces the BX3BT and BX4BT monitor speakers with Bluetooth

While professional recording studios are probably just fine without the ability to stream music via Bluetooth, the M-Audio BX series multimedia monitors are designed not only for music production, but also for live streaming, podcasting, gaming and casual listening. And for those applications, wireless connectivity is a really nice touch.

With the exception of the new Bluetooth option, the BX3BT and BX4BT are the same as their non-wireless counterparts BX3 and BX4. They’ve got the same Black Kevlar woofers (3.5” on the BX3BT, 4.5” on the BX4BT), 1” natural silk dome tweeters and integrated 120-watt amp modules. A stereo set consists of an active speaker that houses the inputs, amp and EQ, and a passive speaker that connects to the active via an included speaker interconnect cable.

Flexible connectivity is really important in a multimedia context. The M-Audio BX3BT and BX4BT have got you covered with 1/4”, 1/8” and RCA inputs. The 1/8” input is located on the front side. This makes it easy to plug in your smartphone, tablet or music player if Bluetooth isn’t an option. They don’t have XLR inputs, but the target audience can probably do without.

A switch on the back lets you select the active speaker position (left or right). There’s also a 2-band equalizer for room adjustments.

The M-Audio BX3BT and BX4BT monitors come with the MPC Beats DAW software and a selection of plug-in instruments (Hybrid 3, Mini Grand and Velvet).
