Instruo has come up with a limited run of Tagh, a good looking Sample & Hold module, and has got DivKid to tell us why we need one. ADVERTISEMENT Tagh (pronounced “tie”) Sample & Hold is one of those quite mysterious synthesizer functions that often gets seen as just a source of randomness when, in fact, it’s capable of all sorts of wonderful and interesting things. Instruo has got together with DivKid to expand our minds about the possibilities of Sample & Hold which is something we could all do with. The Limited Edition Tagh is the same as the original except that it comes with an alternative front panel as modelled by DivKid above. Tagh can use any sort of input as a sampling source or you can make use of an internal analogue noise generator for good old S&H randomisation. It gets interesting when you start to scale it, slew it and rectify it for more focused forms of randomisation. It’ll also do Hold & Track whatever the heck that is? For more advanced and exciting patching possibilities check out this video from DivKid. The Limited Edition Tagh is available direct from Instruo for £269 while stocks last. DivKid also has his own 3-channel Sample & Hold module out called RND STEP which you can check out here. |
