Using A MIDI Keyboard To Draw A MIDI Keyboard Via MIDI Synthesist and controllerist Gil Assayas, aka GLASYS, regularly comes up technical challenges to expand on his performance skills. In this video, Assayas uses a MIDI keyboard to draw a MIDI keyboard, via MIDI, as MIDI data in Cubase. “I’ve been really enjoying making live MIDI art, so I thought it would be cool to try and draw one of my favorite things in the world – a synth,” notes Assayas. “I tried to make it look 3D, and the biggest challenge was drawing the black keys – I had to get the timing of those notes just right, play them faster and faster and then reverse their direction.
