What's new?
Multiple outputs
For even more flexible routing during mixing: Samplitude Pro X2 lets you easily add or remove additional outputs.
You can also assign no outputs to a track. Moreover, you can also view and select multiple outputs directly in the routing manager. Different tap points downstream of the volume control (post), upstream of the volume  control (pre) or directly after the gain (direct out) make it easier to mix complex music productions.

Free plug-in routing
More production control: Order the application of effects and plug-ins exactly how you want. The sequence can now even be edited for tracks as well as all objects in the arrangement. This goes for the effects  
sequence during Surround editing as well. In this case, the plug-ins in the individual channels arealways calculated before the Surround effects. Most effects can now be applied multiple  times to a track or an object.

VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifiers)
The VCA fader in Samplitude Pro X2, whose usability and comfort is based on large analog mixing consoles, is natively integrated in the DAW. The VCA fader allows you to control all relevant levels when mixing your project. Each existing channel strip can be easily turned into a VCA fader. You can also assign individual channels to a VCA group and control them using the VCA fader in the mixer. You can assign as many channel strips as you want to a VCA master fader. By displaying “Ghost faders”, the resulting change can also be read out in the individual channels depending on the VCA master.

Automations made easy
Working with track and plug-in automations is now even easier. When you delete a selected object, the corresponding automation data is saved and moved. You can also right click on curve points to edit them or transfer track automations to objects.

zplane time stretching technology
The new zplane time stretching and pitch shifting algorithm is one of the best algorithms in the world and provides the highest audio quality for adjusting pitch and speed in Samplitude Pro X2.
This technology works impressively and artifact-free, even at large factors.
   
Elastic Audio for multiple tracks
When editing multiple track recordings, e.g. with choirs, it is often useful to apply the changes made for a track in Elastic Audio to all tracks. With the "Synchronize tracks" option in the Elastic Audio dialog, you can now transfer  
changes automatically.

VST 3 interface
The VST 3 interface allows you to integrate plug-ins and instruments developed according to the new VST 3 standard.
VST 3 makes it possible to infinitely automate various plug-in parameters exactly at the sample level and optimizes the allocation of individual channels.

Improved arranger
The project window is now completely integrated in the Samplitude Pro X2 docking concept. You can now comfortably switch between projects by using the tab display. It is also easier to work with multiple screens and projects now.  You can simply move project windows to different monitors and edit or compare them at the same time.
  
Custom toolbars
The toolbars in Samplitude Pro X2 can now be customized with drag & drop and assigned new buttons with their own menu features. Customizing toolbars makes using the necessary tools for various applications during the production process easier.
  
Jump to peak value
Finding extreme values: You can now jump to the peak value in a group of selected objects. This provides a huge advantage when locating and editing problematic points in an arrangement.

Tuner
The tuner in Samplitude Pro X2 is an efficient tool for checking the pitches of individual guitar, bass or ukulele strings before recording.

Samplitude Pro X2 stands for the highest level of audio quality even in complex recording sessions. It allows you to arrange audio and MIDI data on a total of 999 tracks. The maximum number of physical in and outputs amounts to 256;  this enables even the biggest and most demanding projects to be managed without any problems. Compatible formats  include common audio formats from 16-bit to 32-bit floating point as well as sample rates up to 384 kHz.
   
Sound neutral
Samplitude includes full bit transparency. The constant use of floating point calculations ensures that the sound retains the desired nuances, even following extensive digital processing. This means transparency  
in the sound, neutrality and retention of transience and spatiality.
   
Take Composer
The Take Composer clearly displays all the recordings of a passage in the context of the entire arrangement so you can combine them to get a perfect end result. For editing, the Take Composer offers a specially  
optimized cutting tool.

Hybrid Audio Engine
The Hybrid Audio Engine includes a combination of a Low Latency and High Latency Engine. The Low Latency Engine reduces response times when calculating real time effects and enables accurate Live Monitoring at lower latencies. The integrated High Latency Engine, on the other hand, brings about more effective system utilization, which allows for the integration of sophisticated effects, software instruments and other plug-ins.

Multicore Support
Thanks to the ongoing development in CPU performance, DAWs can be operated completely independent of external DSP hardware.
Multi-core support in Samplitude Pro X2 offers the possibility to scale the entire audio system according to its intended use and thus to achieve optimum system performance.

Discover a work environment that suits you. Thanks to the innovative docking concept, Samplitude Pro X2 offers a completely customizable program interface. This allows you to drag, drop, reposition and resize not only toolbars,  
but also central software elements. This way you can adjust your workflows to exactly meet theneeds of different production processes.

zplane time stretching technology
Samplitude Pro X2 uses the latest zplane algorithm, élastique Pro V3, for time stretching and pitch shifting.
This algorithm uses the latest findings from signal processing theory and combines this with psycho-acoustic  models to produce a complex tool for professional audio producers. The precise processing of transients
and the extremely low number of artifacts result in a natural and high-quality sound character when time stretching and pitch shifting.

Track-level spectral editing
Remove unwanted sounds like coughing or clapping, without audibly affecting the original signal.
In this way corrections can be made directly in the arrangement, even without the spectral display  being activated. Using a spectrogram, unwanted noises are quickly identified according to their  color representation and removed - ideal for short, clear noises.
     
Pitch correction for vocals & instruments
Elastic Audio is an efficient pitch correction tool for audio material. Elastic allows you to not only modify the pitch from monophonic instruments and correct out of tune notes in vocal recordings, but also  change entire melodies and adjust base frequencies. It is also possible to create harmonized voices.  
Thanks to object editing, you can target and edit individual words or syllables in a vocal recording.You can transfer these settings from the object level to all tracks which, for example,  makes editing chorus recordings much easier.
     
Comping
Comping describes combining several takes into a "perfect" take. In the take composer, all of the recorded takes for a passage are displayed in ascending order within the context of the complete arrangement for easy comparison. For editing, the take composer offers a special modified cutting tool.
   
Groove extraction
This feature makes further developments to the concept of quantization by extracting rhythms and phasing from recordings and loops. Rhythms from audio and MIDI files can be easily extracted and turned into their own groove templates in Samplitude Pro X2.

Drum replacement
Drum replacement allows you to exchange elements from a live drum recording with takes from another recording or completely replace them with digital sounds. This way you can combine the natural sound of a snare with electronic toms without affecting the original rhythm of the drummer.
     
MIDI editor
The MIDI editor integrates different editors, views, ranges, and tools. A piano roll, drum editor, score editor, event list and controller editor are all available. The beginning of notes, note length and pitch are all precisely displayed in the piano roll. You also have complete access to the VST instruments used and you can also specifically set and change any parameter like velocity, sustain, and other effects. MIDI quantization is also possible without any additional steps.

Object editing
In addition to classic track-related editing options, Samplitude Pro X2 also features object-level editing.
The editing options are so extensive, that it's even possible to send from objects to aux and Surround  buses. The object editor provides real-time access to every setting for every object in the arrangement.
When editing objects, you can apply fades, access effects suchas equalizer, time stretching andpitch shifting, as well as select VST plug-ins. Of course, all object-level settings are non-destructive  and are calculated during playback.
     
Individualized workspaces
You can customize the arrangement, make up and display of visualizations, the file manager andthe transport controls. Concentrate on what matters: The toolbar can be adjusted to fit various  work flows in just a few clicks. Samplitude Pro X2 also offers a selection of skins for customizing  the look of work spaces.

Composition
64-bit support
Native 64-bit support allows you to get the most out of your system resources, even when working with complicated compositions that make use of demanding VST plug-ins and an extensive sample library. Bring complex ideas to life at the state of the art.

MIDI Editor
MIDI data can be imported to and exported from Samplitude Pro X at any time via the new screen keyboard, MIDI controllers, or via the mouse and then processed with internal editors. The MIDI editor integrates  
different editors, views, ranges, and tools. For example, a piano roll, drum editor, score editor, controller editor (e.g. velocity, MIDI volume, etc.), and an event list are all available. You can also specifically set  
and change any parameter such as velocity, sustain, and other effects. MIDI quantization is alsopossible without any additional steps. The beginning of notes, note length and pitch are all  precisely displayed in the piano roll. You can copy, move, lengthen, shorten and play back all notes here.
  
MIDI Velocity Dynamics
"Velocity Dynamics" as real-time effect for MIDI data allows you to edit the attack dynamics of the MIDI notes.
Adjust the MIDI velocity to the connected synthesizer, e.g. to adjust MIDI synths or VSTi, therebycompressing or expanding the velocity strength of the selected event.
  
Drum-Editor
The drum editor in Samplitude Pro X2 lets you transfer note settings between drums and assign individual drum elements their own quanitization and (MIDI) output channel. The drum editor can be operated in two different  
modes. The matrix mode displays notes with standard parameters such as the beginning of the note, note length and pitch. The second display option is in the cell mode. In this mode, the width of notes can be  adjusted and a view quantize grid can be defined per instrument.
   
Music Notation
From idea to finished score: Music notation in Samplitude Pro X2 displays MIDI data as notes in real time.
When you edit, delete, move or adjust the length of MIDI data, these changes are immediately displayed in the score. If you insert a new note in the score editor, a corresponding "MIDI note on" event is created  immediately. Individual notes can be selected by clicking on them, and you can also edit pitch, velocity and  length in the parameters. When your composition is finished, you can easily print the data as sheet music.
  
Screen Keyboard
The new screen keyboard is optimized for touch control and contains a MIDI chord/arpeggio feature.
This allows you to sketch out new ideas on the go without the need for additional equipment.
   
Independence Sampling Workstation
The Independence Sampling Workstation features a fantastic sample library, hundreds of inspiring instruments, VST interface, and professional arranger patches and step sequencer patches. Samplitude Pro X2 includes more than 12 GB of content - the Samplitude Pro X2 Suite offers an impressive 70 GB of content.
  
Revolta 2
12-voice polyphony, a noise generator and an extensive modulation matrix: Revolta 2 offers revolutionary sound design for every type of electronic music. This virtual-analog synthesizer comes complete with an integrated step sequencer and an effects section.
  
Loop Designer
The Loop Designer is an efficient tool for editing Drum & Bass patterns in detail. You can rearrange pre-made grooves, loops and audio files manually or using the randomize feature. The Loop Designer is also excellent for programming bass sequences.

Electric Piano
The Electric Piano shifts between timeless elegance and suppressed aggression. Despite its versatility, the Electric Piano's sound processing and modulation options feature an organic sound character.
String Ensemble
This orchestral string instrument introduces stylish accents to classical music productions. Revolvertracks
You can use Revolver Tracks to easily create variations of a track, e.g. different edits, to have on-hand during mixing. Revolver Tracks are saved without track effects, automations and track settings. This way you can switch between different solos in a song when mixing, without making changes to the rest of the arrangement. You can save Revolver Tracks as copies to create variations on an existing take or save them as empty tracks to import new recordings or new objects. You can switch betweenavailable Revolver Tracks by using keyboard shortcuts, and you can display them at any time in the Take Composer.

Automation
Touch, latch, trim or overwrite: All plug-in and track parameters can be optionally automated. The curves themselves may be drawn in in detail and conveniently defined via handle points. Working with track and plug-in automations is now even easier. When you delete a selected object, the corresponding automation data is saved and moved. You can also right click on curve points to edit them or transfer track automations to objects. To make sure everything stays clearly laid-out and easy to use, you can select between the track and object automation display directly in the track editor beside the track at any time.
   
Object automations
The special feature of object automation is that effects and their automation are connected directly with the object. That means that the objects and their automations may be moved or split however you like; the data remains connected to the object at all times. Since the object processing is present prior to the track processing in the signal flow, object automation is still able to be edited creatively with the following track automation.

Freeze
To make editing complicated arrangements easier, you can "freeze" entire tracks or individual objects in a track to improve performance or make a project easier to keep track of. The audio signals, including all effects and automations, will be turned into an audio track. The freeze feature is particularly useful for turning MIDI tracks into audio tracks when working with VST instruments. All outputs can be calculated for VST instruments with individual outputs. You can also continue editing audio tracks on external systems that do not contain the plug-ins originally used. Of course, all tracks, instruments, or objects can be "thawed out" at any time and edited as usual.

Economy tracks
You can turns tracks into so called "economy tracks" at any time. These tracks and their effects will not be used for input monitoring, thus easing the load on your system. If you mute an economy track, it will not consume performance resources to calculate effects.

essentialFX Suite
The essentialFX Suite is a high-quality collection of 11 professional effects plug-ins for modulation and dynamic effects. This collection contains both standard effects such as flanger, tremolo and chorus, as well as special plug-ins for optimizing speech and vocal recordings, and an excellent compressor. Vintage Effects Suite
The Vintage Effects Suite contains the Corvex, Ecox and Filtox plug-ins. Each of these plug-ins is based on the same control principle ¨C but they couldn't be more different from each other in terms of sound design. Filtox is a real-time FFT filter and controls the frequency response of a modulation source.
This enables synthesizer sounds and drum loops to be edited and distorted, and effects like the wah effect to be created. Ecox can realistically emulate echoes from analog tape devices, which are caused by tracking fluctuations. The Corvex plug-in, on the other hand, modulates realistic-sounding chorus and flanger effects from the early days of analog effects units.

Cleaning effects
Samplitude Pro X2 offers a track-level frequency-based cleaning tool in the form of spectral editing. Remove unwanted sounds like coughing or clapping, without audibly affecting the original signal. Noises can be quickly identified according to their color representation and removed. Additional cleaning effects include DeHisser, DeClipper and DeNoiser, all of which work in real time.

Comparisonics
The comparisonics waveform display presents different frequencies in waveform in various colors.
A waveform in Samplitude Pro X2 no longer just provides you with information about the volume, but also about the height of the relevant frequencies. Low frequencies are shown in dark tones, the mid region in  
green and blue tones and high frequencies in red. This allows you to see at a glance how a waveform sounds and subsequently select and edit specific areas, greatly simplifying recording and mixing.
   
Visualizations
Samplitude Pro X2 offers a variety of precision meters and analyzers that provide optimal supportduring production and the mastering process. The following visualizations can be combined freely  and set up like your own private "cockpit" to more deeply examine frequencies or the stereo and  surround distribution. You can choose between different visualizations layouts  and save them for later use.

Spectroscope
The spectroscope indicates the volume of individual frequency ranges (frequency bands) of an audio signal. The level amplitude of a frequency band displays the exact volume of the relevant frequency range. This allows you to quickly and easily identify which frequencies are being too heavily used.

Spectrogram
The spectrogram distinguishes individual frequency ranges with different color codes and displays them in a time curve. The spectrogram is designed to detect single instances of noise within the frequency spectrum by means of color representation.

Phase oscilloscope
The phase oscilloscope shows the phase relations between the two channels of a stereo signal in the form of curves (Lissajous curve). This enables the identification and editing of interferences causing amplification or attenuation of the signal.

Stereo Meter
The stereo meter (correlation gauge) allows you to measure the mono compatibility based on the phase offset between the stereo channels. A value of +1 corresponds with a phase offset of 0°. In such case, the signals in both stereo channels would be identical. Stereo mix within a normal range correlates to values between 0.3 and 0.7. The colors and thresholds for stereo and mono areas can be individually configured in the settings.

Tuner
The new tuner allows you to easily check the pitch of your string instruments before you start recording. Simply pluck the appropriate string in front of the microphone - the tuner then displays how accurately the individual strings of guitars, basses and ukuleles are tuned.

Direction Meter
The direction meter visualizes an audio signal's detection direction in a panorama. If the center of the indicator is near the scale midpoint, then the signal is also acoustically in the middle of the panorama. The width of the indicator corresponds to the degree of correlation and shows the base width and hence the strength of the stereo effect. A mono signal is displayed as a vertical line. If the indicator is red, the base width exceeds the allowable value, which, if possible, should be avoided.

Bit Meter
The bit meter not only indicates with which bitrate the signal being played is calculated in Samplitude Pro X2, but also which maximum processing rate is possible.

Oszilloscope
The oscilloscope displays the signal amplitude over the time curve.

Surround Meter
The surround meter shows the level of the audio signal based on the individually defined surround settings and angles. It shows each speaker's level as a polygon on a sound representative area. This makes Samplitude Pro X2 a powerful tool especially for working with film productions.

Mastering
Mastering effects
The effects featured in Samplitude Pro X2 are high quality, reliable and impressive tools ideal for the mastering process.
Effects such as the Brickwall Limiter, sMax11, Multiband Enhancer, EQ116 or the Analog Modelling Suite, as well as proven dynamic effects were developed and optimized for mastering purposes. All effects in Samplitude Pro X2  
can be used with an object, on a track or on the master channel.
   
Phase Linear EQ
Samplitude Pro X2 offers a superb equalizer - the EQ116. This 6-band EQ works either with oversampling or with phase linear algorithms, proving its proficiency in mixing as well as in mastering. Due to the linear process,  
no disruptive phase shifts occur when mastering songs already mixed. The equalizer contains predefined presets and allows you to cycle through different settings in real time and directly  compare them with A-B comparisons.

Mastering & Authoring
Add indices and CD text to CD projects according to the Red Book standard and burn directly from the arrangement with Samplitude Pro X2. All kinds of blank formats can be used (+R/-R/+RW/-RW). Audio files can be burned in
uncompressed form (linear PCM), as an audio CD or in compressed form, e.g. as MP3, AAC, OGG or FLAC format as a data CD/DVD. Moreover, CD projects can be exported in stereo or surround format as DVD audio -  this makes it possible to burn high definition stereo and surround projects  directly from the multi-track arrangement.

MAGIX Xtreme Print Studio
To accompany the mastering process in a project, you can export the tracks contained, as well as their times and track description in a TOC overview. You can also transfer this data directly to the MAGIX Xtreme Print Studio,  where items such as covers, inlays and labels for the completed master can be created and printed.
