Erica Synths and Moritz Klein have expanded their new line of educational (EDU) DIY Eurorack modules with a new diode ladder VCF. A while ago, Erica Synths discontinued their popular DIY Eurorack series. With good reason. In collaboration with Moritz Klein, they have developed a new series of DIY modules from scratch with a strong focus on education. Each kit comes with the components as well as a rich manual. So far, they published four modules including the oscillator, sequencer, envelope, dual VCA plus the case. The filter is now the fifth module kit of the 9 newly developed modules. So we’re halfway there Erica Synths EDU DIY VCF The new EDU DIY VCF is a new lowpass filter based on a diode ladder and sticks to super basic and widely available components. According to the developers, the architecture is as approachable as possible by avoiding the tricky diff-pair setup classic ladder filters rely on. Interface side, you get a big cutoff knob, and controls for the level input and resonance. Both the cutoff and resonance can also be controlled with CV and with dedicated attenuators. It has a single input, an output, and two CV inputs. A very classic filter module perfect for diving into the world of filters. Another nice DIY kit from this very lovely collaboration. Nothing for me because I have two left hands for DIY, otherwise I would have already ordered them. Erica Synths EDU DIY VCF is available now for 70 |
