Redbeard Effects launches new Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII Mikey Demus' Redbeard Effects adds a third pedal to its lineup Redbeard Effects Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII Redbeard Effects Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII · Source: Redbeard Effects The new Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII is the third stompbox from Redbeard Effects and combines powerful pre/post drives with a parametric EQ. This pedal is the twisted brainchild Mikey Demus of Skindred and Adrian Thorpe of ThorpyFX. With both these minds behind it, you know it will be hot (and pink). Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII Redbeard Effects, Mikey Demus’ effects brand, initially launched with the Red Mist MKIV and the Honey Badger Octave Fuzz. The company has now added a third pedal, the brand new Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII, to its lineup. The pedal has two separate drive controls for pre and post, plus a parametric EQ section with a wide frequency control range of 80Hz to 4kHz. The EQ can boost or cut any frequency by up to 6dB. This gives you the ability to really sculpt your drive tones, and get them exactly where you want them. Redbeard Effects Angry Rhubarb Paradynamic Overdrive MKII Simplicity = Win I really like its simple user interface, and find the layout to be well done and clearly thought out. Each pedal is hand-built in the UK and is a 100% analogue circuit with true-bypass switching, as you would expect from a modern-day drive boutique pedal. And, since Mikey plays in a very well-known band and knows what touring musicians need from an overdrive pedal, and Adrian Thorpe has to be one of the world’s top circuit designers for stompboxes, I’m expecting great things from this little pink and black pedal.
