AM8109 JP-8 VCF v2 The AM8109 JP-8 VCF v2 is an accurate replication/clone of the lowpass filter from the legendary Roland Jupiter including the unique Q compensation. The new version of the AM8109 is a redesign of the original that brings red LED slider pots, improved panel graphics, and a narrow 10 HP width. AMSynths has updated the design to use modern components. Like the original, it uses an AS3109 OTA chip in the filter core. The module gives you the same warm-sounding characteristic of the original Jupiter-8 filter with smooth frequency control. Unlike the original, the AM8109 JP-8 VCF v2 is capable of self-oscillating at a high resonance amount. They trimmed it to avoid overload and waveform clipping. The module has 2-pole (12dB) and 4-pole (24dB) modes where the 2-pole provides a more gradual cutoff slope, lower volume, and silky sound. There is also the best-known Q compensation that ensures no significant drop in signal level as resonance is increased. On the front panel, you can adjust the input mix and resonance via potentiometers, and the frequency, keyboard tracking, and CV modulations (LFO, envelope) with sliders. Connection side, you get two audio inputs, three control voltage inputs, and an audio signal output.
